Aasmund Nordstoga and Åsmund Reistad are among the most distinctive artists in Norwegian folk music. They have played together for 25 years in different ensembles and constellations. Although they have a long history together, it was not until recently they released their first duo album. It´s called “Tom Duley og andre viser” and consists of old American folk songs, translated to Norwegian. The duo has made modern versions with a personal touch of songs that are both happy, funny and groovy, but also thoughtful and wistful. Nordstoga is one of Norway’s best singers in his genre, and Reistad has developed his own style, making him one the most exciting guitarists in the country. They have a big and growing fan base, and their concerts are an example of great musical excess.
